循環死後の臓器潅流といえばSCS（static cold storage）からpump、さらにNRP（normothermic regional perfusion）が行われるようになったが、ex vivoで次に注目されているのがHOPE（hypothermic oxygenated organ preservation）だという。とくに肝臓で試みられている。Mitochondria protectionによって臓器のviabilityを高めるのが目的である。そして、ミトコンドリアへのダメージを測る指標として、潅流液中のFMN（flavin mononucleotide）濃度が調べられている。
